Malachite after Azurite
specimen number:
4551018
location:
New Cornelia mine, Ajo, Pima Co., Arizona, USA
description:
A grouping of blocky crystals of what were once azurite measuring to 1.3 cm in size, these now replaced by deep green crystallized malachite and covering matrix. Micro-chipping is present but very minimal, I still think a good example for one of these Arizona classics.
