Very fine for the species, glassy partly gemmy large rhombohedral crystals of magnesite measuring to 6.0 cm in size in a cluster without matrix. The crystals are sharp and in excellent condition. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark. The specimen dates to the very early 1990s.

Brumado, located in the state of Bahia, Brazil, is characterized by complex Precambrian geological formations featuring ancient metamorphic rocks and rich sediment-hosted deposits. The region is widely renowned for the Serra das Eguas mountain range, which contains some of the largest and highest quality deposits of magnesite and talc in the world. Mining activity in the area began to expand significantly during the twentieth century, transforming the local economy and establishing Brumado as a major global center for industrial mineral extraction.
