Legrandite with Smithsonite
specimen number:
8601169
location:
Ojuela mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
description:
A superb combination piece from this classic locality showing dark yellow crystallized legrandite and groupings to 1.0 cm across set beautifully on a limonite matrix with pearly white crystals of smithsonite to 0.7 cm in size. In terrific condition. On the bottom of this specimen is a number which designates that this was one time part of a collection belonging to the University of Michigan, a collection that I bought and sold back in the early 1990s.
