Hilgardite with Boracite

specimen number:
4521005

location:
Boulby mine, North Yorkshire, England, UK

description:
A wonderful example for this rare species with brilliant orange red micro crystals of hilgardite scattered across the top of glistening light green crystallized boracite. What at first appears to be damage on some of the crystals is actually completely natural. An excellent example for both species from the early 1990s. Previous label notes that at one time the specimen was part of the collection of Lindsay Greenbank.
