Excellent sharp lustrous octahedral crystals of galena measuring to 2.3 cm in size in a floater cluster and cemented with sparkling white crystals of dolomite, lustrous black sphalerite, and small chalcopyrite crystals. There are no points of attachment, in excellent condition. Very good example for this crystal form for the species at this locality. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark. The specimen was collected by Brian Huntsman from 40 drift during the summer of 1995.

The Brushy Creek Mine, brought into full operation by St. Joe Minerals in November 1973 within Reynolds County, Missouri, is a key industrial underground facility situated in the central part of the world-class Viburnum Trend. Geologically, the deposit belongs to the Mississippi Valley-type family, featuring sulfide mineralization hosted chiefly within the Cambrian Bonneterre Dolomite and overlying buried Proterozoic paleotopographic basement knobs. The mine is celebrated both for its large-scale commercial extraction of lead, zinc, and copper, and for producing exceptional mineral specimens—particularly scalenohedral calcites and iridescent marcasites—recovered from deep underground watercourse cavities.
