Two large lustrous cubic crystals of galena, the larger crystal 4.4 cm on edge, coming off of a breccia matrix. This is sharp and in very good condition all around with just slight micro-cleaving present. From the late 1970s.

Located in Reynolds County, Missouri, the Fletcher Mine represents a classic Mississippi Valley-type ore deposit situated along the famous Viburnum Trend. Its regional geology is defined by stratabound lead-zinc-copper mineralisation hosted within Cambrian Bonneterre Formation dolomite, where hydrothermal ore-bearing fluids infiltrated porous breccias, reef structures, and solution collapse features to deposit sulfide minerals. Main shaft sinking for St. Joe Minerals Corporation commenced in July 1964, and the site began commercial underground operations in February 1967, later becoming noted as the type locality for the rare copper-nickel-cobalt sulfide species fletcherite. Collector interest in Fletcher Mine specimens centers on exceptional, lustrous galena displaying rare spinel-law penetration twinning, sharp metallic crystals on contrasting white dolomite matrix, and world-class calcite groups
