Light purple cubic crystals of fluorite measuring to 1.0 cm in size covering the top of matrix with white bladed barite. In good condition. Nice for this locality. The specimen is accompanied by a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark as shown at the end of the video.

The Caldwell Stone Company Quarry in Danville, Boyle County, Kentucky, has been in active operation for more than a century, having opened around the 1920s, and it remains active today under the ownership of the Rogers Group. Geologically, the quarry is situated in the rich limestone strata of the Lexington Limestone, an extensive Ordovician-age rock formation prevalent in central Kentucky. The site is well known for its deep open-pit extraction of aggregate materials and features local mineral veins containing various specimens such as calcite, barite, and fluorite.
