Fluorite
specimen number:
4061024
location:
Minerva mine #1, Hardin Co., Illinois, USA
description:
Unique and gorgeous piece showing a thin grouping of intense blue transparent fluorite crystals to 1.5 cm in size forming a sort of arch with a hole in the center. There is slight chipping on the left edge of the piece as you view the specimen, still the color is something else. Note that under halogen bulbs the color is not nearly so vivid; in daylight (we use daylight) bulbs for photography/video, the color is incredible.
Size: 9.5 x 6.0 x 1.5 cm (cabinet)
