Attractive and interesting locality example for the species, light green to orange crystals of translucent fluorite, these averaging 1.0 cm in size covering both sides of matrix. This is in good condition. The orange color due to iron oxide.

Mihalkovo, located in the Devin municipality of the Smolyan Province in southern Bulgaria, is situated within the rugged terrain of the Rhodope Mountains. Geologically, the area is part of the extensive Rhodope Massif, characterized by complex metamorphic basement rocks, marbles, and gneisses that have been cut by hydrothermal veins and fault systems. Mineralogically, the Mihalkovo deposit is well known for hydrothermal vein systems containing barite, fluorite, and various metallic sulfides, and it has gained international recognition among mineral collectors for producing exceptional, highly aesthetic crystal specimens of fluorite. Historically, beyond its metallic and mineral exploration, the region is exceptionally famous for its natural carbonated mineral water springs, which were officially explored with shafts starting around 1942 and developed into commercial bottling operations beginning in 1956.
