Fluorite
specimen number:
1571017
location:
Minerva No. 1 Mine, Cave-in-Rock, Hardin Co., Illinois, USA
description: A classic southern Illinois fluorite specimen of much higher quality than most. Extremely glassy and lustrous faces, the interior a dark Amber, with color zones towards the outer edges of the cubic crystals going from purple to a beautiful blue. Extremely minimal and sparse micro-chipping present along one edge, almost every fluorite from this district that I have seen shows this somewhere. I think the piece in outstanding condition. The color, luster, and transparency are wonderful. Measures 8.0 x 7.5 x 7.0 cm.
Size: 8.0 x 7.5 x 7.0 cm (small-cabinet)
