An aesthetic and attractive classic example for this locality with a lustrous deep green thick crystal of elbaite, opaque at the base and almost gem quality of the termination, the termination a much lighter green color zone. This is associated with attractive platy white albite crystals typical of the locality. In excellent condition all around. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark. He acquired the specimen around 1980. This would have come from the very first production at this locality.

Historically, modern commercial mining began in the early 1980s with international and state-backed exploratory projects, eventually transitioning into localized manual extraction by nearby villagers that continues to supply mineral specimens to collectors worldwide.
