McFall Lake, located in Herschel Township within Hastings County, Ontario, is a locality where the local geology features crystalline limestone (marble) invaded by or in contact with granite pegmatites, characteristic of the Grenville geological province. Within this contact zone, metamorphic and metasomatic processes have produced well-formed mineral specimens, notably lustrous green crystals of diopside alongside calcite.
