Quite rich sparkling deep red acicular crystals of cuprite scattered throughout this matrix. This is the variety known as chalcotrichite. In great condition. The specimen comes with a previous label as shown at the end of the video. This label states that the specimen at one time was part of the collection of the American Museum of Natural History who purchased the piece from Harvard University in 1947 for $50. Said to have been mined in 1905.
