A choice bright lustrous metallic twinned crystal of cubanite. Classic material for this locality. Complete all around. At first what appears to be damage along the left side of the piece is natural crystallization. Just tiny micro-damage present, overall this is in very good condition. Fine thumbnail for this unusual and rare species.

Chibougamau is a mining town located in the Nord-du-Quebec region of Canada that gained global geological fame for producing the world's finest specimens of the mineral cubanite. While cubanite typically occurs globally as microscopic grains or massive microscopic intergrowths within other ores, the local mines, particularly the Henderson number two mine which featured unique hydrothermal fractures that allowed this brass-yellow iron copper sulfide to form sharp, highly distinct, and complexly twinned crystals.
