description: Absolute top quality large cabinet display piece for this San Juan Mountain, Colorado locality. Large bright brassy crystals of chalcopyrite to 2.5 cm in size are scattered beautifully across the front side of a 19.0 x 12.0 x 6.0 cm quartz crystal covered matrix. This is an outstanding condition. The quartz crystals are glassy and gemmy and can measure to over 2.0 cm in length. Twinned crystals of black sphalerite to 1.0 cm are present, as well as tiny galena crystals. This is in superb condition considering the size of the piece and number of crystals present. An important piece for this locality; collected by Charles Mochenbacher in 1986. Ex Mark & Karen Vendl collection.
