Chalcocite with Bornite
specimen number:
1162012
location:
Bristol Mine, Hartford Co., Connecticut, USA
description:
Fine metallic crystallized calcite very rich across the top of this matrix with bornite and quartz. This is in good condition with minimal micro-chipping present. This classic old locality was first worked in 1837, working off and on until 1953. Most of the best chalcocite specimens were recovered in the 1840s. This is a good one. A previous label from Schortmann's minerals comes with the specimen as seen at the end of the video.
