Chalcocite
specimen number:
1162023
location:
Bristol Mine, Hartford Co., Connecticut, USA
description: An outstanding example from this old classic locality. Lustrous sharp crystals of chalcocite measuring to 1.5 cm in size are very rich across the top of this matrix. Some damage is present as seen, this still very good for something likely collected in the 1840s. Several previous labels come with the specimen, including one from the University of Chicago, ex Penfield collection.
