specimen number:
2341152
location:
Tissouite Ait Seghrouchene, Midelt, Draa-Tafilalet, Morocco
description: Situated in the Midelt Province of the Draa-Tafilalet region in Morocco, the Tissouite Ait Seghrouchene area features sedimentary and evaporitic geological formations characteristic of the Atlas Mountains. The locality is well-regarded among mineral collectors for producing fine specimens of celestine, often found alongside gypsum within sedimentary or evaporite-rich rock layers. Specialized mineral collecting in this remote region has brought exceptional crystal specimens to the international market, highlighting the rich geological diversity of the Moroccan Atlas.
Very reminiscent of the material of the species from Madagascar, these are beautiful blue gemmy prismatic crystals of Celestine to 3.5 cm in height covering the top of this matrix. In excellent condition and very pretty. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Jan Erik Larsen.
