Calcite with Sphalerite
specimen number:
4481153
location:
Elmwood mine, Smith Co., Tennessee, USA
description:
Glassy gem quality amber colored scalenohedral crystals of calcite measuring to 9.0 cm in size set aesthetically on a lustrous black crystallized sphalerite matrix. The crystal exhibits sharp twinning. Numerous smaller crystals are present, one of them on what I consider the backside of the piece is cleaved on one termination as pointed out in the video. This is not visible from the front of the piece, and I think this in really good condition.
