description: An outstanding example for the species from this long closed and famous Missouri locality. Colorless scalenohedral crystals of calcite measuring to 5.0 cm in size across the top of a hematite matrix. Small crystals of chalcopyrite are scattered throughout. The specimen is dusted with reddish hematite. This is in excellent condition. The specimen must date to the 1970s.
