Calcite with Chalcopyrite
specimen number:
1222044
location:
south orebody, Sweetwater mine, Viburnum Trend, Reynolds Co., Missouri, USA
description:
Lustrous pale yellow gemmy prismatic crystals of calcite measuring to 2.8 cm in length on matrix with crystallized dolomite and golden chalcopyrite. There might be a few minor crystals that are slightly cleaved, I think that when one considers the number of crystals upon this piece, this is in very good condition. Fluorescent red under longwave ultraviolet light.
