Calcite
specimen number:
4961001
location:
west orebody, Sweetwater mine, Viburnum Trend, Reynolds Co., Missouri, USA
description: A spectacular large plate lustrous translucent golden scalenohedral calcite crystals, the largest measuring to 13.5 cm in size and double terminated. One small crystal is cleaved, almost to be expected on something of this size with that many crystals present. I still think this is a very striking piece and in really good condition. The color is outstanding for the species from this mining district
