Calcite
specimen number:
1213002
location:
Sweetwater mine, Viburnum Trend, Reynolds Co., Missouri, USA
description: Extremely fine grouping of large lustrous dark scalenohedral calcite crystals. This is in super condition. Most, and when I say most, I mean maybe 98 % of the specimens from this large pocket were damaged. yet, they are still commanding very high prices even though damaged. This one is as perfect as these will get. The dark color is due to inclusions of chalcopyrite. The quality is excellent.
