Azurite
specimen number:
4751126
location:
Tsumeb mine, Otjikoto, Namibia
description: Gorgeous lustrous blue prismatic terminated crystals of azurite measuring to 7.0 cm in length coming off a brecciated matrix of quartz and dolomite. Slight contacting on the backside of the piece as seen in the video, this is natural all around. I think in super condition. This well-known specimen was featured on the cover of the German general magazine Lapis in November, 1997. This is said to have come from the second oxidation zone. Many previous labels come with the specimen as seen at the end of the video. A copy of the magazine will come with the specimen.
Size: 7.5 x 4.0 x 4.0 cm (small-cabinet)
