description:
This is a wonderful old classic grouping of incredibly lustrous blue azurite crystals. Complete all around and in great condition. This exhibits some translucency with strong lighting. There is quite a history behind this piece, originally owned by the famous American collector George Vaux who obtained the piece through the well-known dealer Wilhelm Maucher. The specimen went from Vaux to Bryn Mawr College. R.V. Gaines then acquired the piece via exchange with the college. The specimen has been figured in many different magazines, including Rocks and Minerals, volume 95 and The Mineralogical Record, July August 2016. All of the previous labels are shown at the end of the video.
