Azurite
specimen number:
4531049
location:
Tsumeb mine, Otjikoto, Namibia
description:
A lustrous blue crystal of azurite measuring 2.2 cm in height coming off matrix with minor malachite. Very slight micro-chipping present, especially along one edge on the back of the specimen. This is shown up close in the video. Still a very neat specimen, this is pre-1940 and certainly dates to the first oxidation zone. An antique label comes with the specimen, on the back of the label it notes that this is from the Hart collection originally. I am assuming from the famous W. C. Hart in Colorado.
