Azurite
specimen number:
1109968
location:
Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Mun. de Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico
description:
Outstanding lustrous deep "linarite" blue crystals of azurite to 3.2 cm in size scattered thickly over the front of a white 8.5 x 6.0 x 6.0 cm matrix. Sits perfectly for display. This is in outstanding condition. I can find one tiny micro-chip on a crystal edge that is seen in one of the close-up photos. For one of these Milpillas azurites, this is as perfect as they get. The quality is outstanding and the specimen is extremely beautiful. Ex Steve Neely collection. Ref: The Mineralogical Record 39(6), 25-34. The initial photo is by Joe Budd.
