A cluster of pale yellow green platy autunite crystals stored in a plastic box.the specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark.

Located within the Saint-Sylvestre granitic massif of the La Crouzille district in France, the Margnac II Mine features complex geology characterized by intrusive granite hosting hydrothermal veins and altered rock pipes known as episyenites. Discovered and actively exploited during the twentieth century as part of the prominent French domestic extraction program for energy resources, the site became well known to mineral collectors for producing diverse secondary species. Following the conclusion of industrial mining operations and subsequent site remediation, old dumps and preserved specimens continue to interest regional researchers and mineralogists studying complex granite-hosted vein systems.
